(In an article printed in the Hong Kong newspaper Ta Kong Pao, Xie Tiancheng was listed along with Feng Youlan, Zong Baihua, Wang Li and Qi Gong as famous Chinese cultural personages.)

(Went on a lecture tour of the United States upon the invitation of Coleman, president of the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art, where he was made emeritus professor of art. During the tour he also visited New York, Boston, San Francisco and Washington, where he compared notes with local artists. The Shanghai people's Art Press published
a series of calendars featuring works by famous Chinese painters, including Li Keran, Bai Xuebai, Liang Shunian, Zhang Bu and Xie Tiancheng.)
